Das sagt alles und gleichzeitig nichts über “Shortbus”. It is real life, aber ganz anders als erwartet (was real life eben so an sich hat). Es geht um Orgasmen aber nicht um Sex, um Beziehung aber nicht um Liebe, um Gender aber nicht um Trans. Gleichzeitig gehts genau um das alles auch (wie es real life eben so an sich hat). John Cameron Mitchell hat den Film ein Jahr lang mit den DarstellerInnen gemeinsam entwickelt. Das Casting war die Teilnahme an, von Mitchell selbstveranstalteten, Shortbus Parties, die Rollenverteilung ein T-Gruppen mäßiges Voting:
“I had to quickly ascertain who was sexually attracted to whom, i.e., who had the potential to play couples in the film. We had a secret ballot and everyone had to rate everyone else on a scale of one to four, so we’d have some information about compatibility.”

Jap! er ist wirklich großartig. Ich überleg schon die ganze Zeit ob ich mir ein zweites Mal Kino leisten soll….
Übrigens: im Stadtkino gibts die Poster zum Film gratis dazu!
