About

“…not only the Spanish Main, Love. The entire ocean. The entire World! Wherever we want to go, we´ll go…” (Captain Jack Sparrow, Pirates of the Caribbean, 2003)

Look what I can do!

I am curious, inventive, multi-talented and always on the lookout for the next adventure. I turn down no challenge (at least not without serious considerations…).

I spent my years at university studying political science, with a focus on gender studies, cultural studies and international relations. For my master thesis I did research in Moscow about the Russian Womens Movements in the Transition period after 1991 (finished in 2004). For my doctoral thesis I researched the portrayal of Freedom and Independence in Hollywood Pirate Movies from the 30ies to the 50ies: A Pirates Life for Me…(finished with distinction in 2009).

During that time I was also an active member of the Austrian Students Union, obtained two trainer certificates, was an acting member in an Improv Theater Group (12vorFuchs ), stood as Clown on stage (Theater Olé), co-founded a graduate center for doctoral students (GZ Sowi), learned Spanish in Mexico, taught Political Science in Vienna, intensified Russian, co-founded a Company (Trainerei) and applied for a Fulbright grant to the US.

…Then I spent a year in Illinois (USA).

Being back, I added self defense training (Krav Maga, Eskrima), running half-marathons, learning French and working for the Fulbright Commission to the list of activities.

Sounds exciting? It is!
